First town on the River Wye, Rhayader is home to the spectacular Dams and Reservoirs of the Elan and Claerwyn Valleys created by Victorian engineers to supply water to th e City of Birmingham some 70 miles away. Here is also the perfect base for the whole family to experience stunning outdoor attractions and events. Situated just outside the town is a designated Red Kite feeding area where visitors can watch breath taking aerial feats of these beautiful birds who have returned from the point of extinction in Wales. The clock tower in the middle of Rhayader acts as the historic crossroad midway between North and South Wales. 10 miles away is the Victorian Spa town of Llalndrindod Wells.
