A former Powys primary school could end up as a home or business as Powys County Council prepares to sell it through a public auction later this month.
Dolfor Primary School at Dolfor, near Newtown, Powys, was placed on the market last year by the council after the school closed in 2013.
The property, sat next to the main A483 trunk road in the hamlet, has been placed into an auction of properties by Mid Wales and Shropshire property surveyors and estate agents Morris, Marshall and Poole at Welshpool Livestock Sales on Thursday, 26th March.
The 1950s built building sits within one acre of ground on the fringe of the community.
Other properties includes a former chapel at Corris, a holiday chalet at Aberdyfi, a building plot in Aberystwyth and houses and bungalows at Newtown, Welshpool, Llanidloes and Wrexham among others locations.
“It’s rare for a property like the former Dolfor Primary School to come on to the market. It provides a range of possible uses, subject to planning permission, from a home to business use,” said Paul Evans, partner at Morris, Marshall and Poole.
“We anticipate a lot of interest in it and the other properties coming up for auction.”
