A Shropshire home that hosted fun-packed charity bingo nights has been put up for sale, ending several years of social events.
Weston House at Morda, near Oswestry, became well known in the local community for the charitable hospitality played by owners Mel and Ann Price.
But wanting to downsize, the couple decided to put the property on the market ending close ties to the family home. After businessman Mr Price passed away, his wife decided to continue with the sale of the four-bedroomed property with landscaped gardens, outbuildings, workshop and a games room.
“We’ve had some great times here,” said Mrs Price. “We moved here back in 1995 when it was a farmhouse and we’ve substantially refurbished it.”
Mr Price, who ran a freight transport business, was also involved in Morda football and cricket clubs. After organizing fundraising events for the clubs, the couple decided to host charity bingo nights in the games room at Weston House.
“The games room was an old milking parlour. It’s a typical red bricked building of its time. We called it the Party Shed after deciding to convert it fort he Millennium celebrations. We’ve had a lot of family parties and events there ever since, as well as hosting the bingo nights which were very popular,” added Mrs Price.
The house which sits in just under an acre of land has been put up for sale through Shropshire and Mid Wales estate agents and property surveyors, Morris, Marshall and Poole for £425,000.
“It’s perfect family home that could be incorporated for business use using the outbuildings,” said Mrs Price.
