Morris, Marshall and Poole’s Kathryn Davies is just one of three of Wales’s brightest young industry ‘stars’ to have been shortlisted for the RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year Awards 2014 and the only one in the prestigious Residential/Valuation category.
Hundreds of young surveyors from across the UK were nominated for these prestigious awards and the finalists have now been announced which includes property surveyor Kathryn who works for Mid Wales and Shropshire’s leading property surveyors, estate and land agents.
The awards will seek to recognise those excelling within their surveying roles and inspirational role models and ambassadors for the surveying profession.
On finding out that she was shotlisted for the final awards Kathryn, who is based at our office in Newtown, Powys, said: “I am honoured to have been nominated for the award and to be the only finalist in the Residential/Valuation category from Wales.
“Working for a successful regional estate and land agency in Mid Wales and Shropshire allows me to be involved in a wide range of areas within the business in addition to residential property.
“Since joining Morris, Marshall and Poole, in addition to selling and valuing property, I’ve been involved in revising and developing the company’s rental policy and tasked with refreshing our marketing and brand activity, in addition to my main activities.”
Andrew Turner, a partner at Morris, Marshall and Poole said: “While Kathryn specializes in the residential field carrying out valuations and selling property, she’s not afraid to get involved in other areas of the business, always having our best interest at heart. She sets herself ambitious sales targets each year and is earning fees much higher than that expected for her age.”
“She’s been involved in developing a range of polices that have ensured we are always compliant with the latest laws and regulations, as well as attracting and managing a wide portfolio of properties to MMP.”
Speaking on the announced shortlist, RICS Wales Director, Ben Collins said: “The finalists are examples of the young talent we have in Wales who demonstrate excellence within the profession.
“I would like to congratulate them on being shortlisted for these prestigious accolades and wish them the best of luck in the finals.”
The awards will be judged against key criteria:
• client satisfaction
• exceptional achievement
• team player/collaboration
• ambassador to the profession.
