Apparently some people will spend just 25 minutes viewing a house before they decide if they want to make an offer on it.
In fairness, many people will know if a house is for them once they've undertaken a viewing. But would you really make a decision after just 25 minutes of stepping into it?
A survey of 2,000 housebuyers was undertaken by a national housing developer and the Social Issues Research Centre. It found that a third of those wanted to put in an offer in such a short timescale as they were worried about losing the property.
House buying is one of the biggest purchase decisions most people will make. Our advice is to think about it carefully, even if you know within 25 minutes that it's the house you want.
You might love the house you've viewed, but ensure it ticks all the boxes for your needs:
- Does it need work doing to it?
- Is it in the right location?
- Does it have enough bedrooms?
- Is the garden large enough?
- Do you have the relevant finance in place to purchase it?
We ensure you have all the relevant information about a property before you view it within the literature and online downloads we provide which includes all the eseentials and hopefully answers most of the questions.
But we're also here to help answer any other questions you might have about a property you're interested in as well.
And remember, you'll need to ensure all the mortgage or financial aspects are in place for the purchase to take place. It's worth ensuring all these are ready before you make an offer.
