Landowners in the Newtown area of Powys are being warned to ensure they are compensated for major water pipeline works being undertaken.
Severn Trent Water is currently issuing formal land entry notices to landowners of properties in the Newtown, Sarn and Mochdre areas so new pipes can be laid.
But with a possible effect on land and agricultural uses, Matthew Williams of the Rural and Agricultural team at chartered surveyors and estate agents Morris, Marshall and Poole, urged landowners to ensure they understand their rights.
“We’re already working with several landowners regarding the pipeline work in the area, providing specialist advice on disturbance issues and compensation,” said Matthew, who is based at the company’s Newtown office.
“The work being undertaken is likely to impact on any landowner where the new pipes arte being laid and we’d urge them to seek advice to ensure they are not affected or out of pocket because of any potential disturbance to land or property.”
Any landowner whose property is passed through by such work and is affected should seek advice on the implications and impact of the work.
