Stamp Duty

When you buy a commerical property, you may be required to pay stamp duty tax, depending on the value.  New stamp duty rates were introduced from December 2014 and can be calculated using the table below

Freehold sales and transfers (Non-residential and mixed use including Commercial)

(You can also use this table to work out the SDLT rate for a lease premium).

Example     If you buy a freehold commercial property for £275,000, the SDLT payable is calculated as follows:
